Easy 4-Step 10-minute Skin Care Routine

Skin Care

The road to pursuit of blemish free glowing skin is time consuming and can be paved with contraptions, cleansers, creams, and potions applied and removed in a sequence of 6 steps or more before slathering on finishers such as toner and moisturizer. Who has an additional 45 minutes to spend preparing for the day or winding down for the night? The demand of life from family to chores and work is great enough without the added pressure of a daily routine that cuts into your Netflix time.

Like many of you, my skin has been through so many up's and down's. It is not perfect and I worry at the sight of every new black head that it will be the start of a series of dark spots on my face that will NEVER go away. Due to my military position, I don't have a lot of time in my day to execute a 10-step skin care process. Know that your skin care routine does not have to be complicated to garner improved results. For most of us, our skin needs four basic things:

  1. Cleansing

  2. Exfoliating

  3. Toning

  4.  Moisturizing

First, select the right cleanser.    You never want to use a              product that leaves your skin      void of hydration, even if you have oily skin. For the past five years, I’ve used the Monster Free bar.  Activated charcoal detoxifies while tea tree oil promotes an even skin tone.

Next, exfoliate to bring forth radiant glowing skin. Be cautious about using heavy oil based exfoliant's on your face which could lead to break outs. If you choose to use an oil based exfoliate, look for light nourishing oils such as jojoba and avocado.

Tone your skin to restore the PH level. Don't make you body work harder than it has to. Give it a helping hand that includes a cotton ball soaked with toner.

Lastly, moisturize. Apply moisturizer while the skin is still damp to help seal in water. Doing this will give the deeper layers of your skin extra hydration. Light weight moisturizers such coconut milk lotion are best for your face. Avoid heavy oils and moisturizers that may clog pores. This is especially important if you spend a lot of time outside or in other environments that are tough on the skin.

What's you skin care routine? Is a make up remover a must for you? Do you use a cleansing brush to help with the process? How do you feel about eye creams? Share that steps you take to keep your skin glowing.
